by January 15th.

Recognition will take place at the annual spring meeting and conference.

Outstanding Service of an LPN

 


Description:

An award to recognize a licensed practical nurse (LPN) who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her school, community, district, or state organization  

           

Eligibility:

Please check all criteria below:

Licensed practical nurse 

Currently practicing full time in a school setting

Current member of MASN

Has made an outstanding contribution to his/her school, district, or state organization

School Nurse of the Year


Description:

To publicly recognize school nurses statewide by annually honoring one school nurse who demonstrates excellence in school nursing practice and leadership in school health. This nurse will be submitted to represent Missouri in the NASN Excellence in School Nursing: School Nurse of the Year recognition ceremony.

Eligibility:

Please check criteria below:
❏ Be a registered professional nurse
❏ Be a member of MASN for the current year and the preceding four years.
❏ Be a member of NASN for the current year and the preceding two years.
❏ Have five years experience as a school nurse and be currently employed as a full-time school nurse. If the only school nurse position in a community involves fewer hours than usual, it will be considered full time for the purpose of this eligibility criteria. More than 50 percent of nominee’s time must be spent in direct care.

Nominate a School Nurse of the Year

School Nurse Administrator of the Year


Description:

An award to publicly recognize school nurse administrators statewide by annually honoring one administrator who administers and coordinates quality school nursing services and health programs. This nurse will be nominated to represent Missouri in the NASN SNAY award.

Eligibility:

Please check criteria below:
❏ Only one nominee permitted from each MASN district
❏ Be a registered professional nurse
❏ Bachelor’s degree or higher
❏ Be a member of MASN for the current year and the preceding four years.
❏ Be a member of NASN for the current year and the preceding four years.
❏ Nominee must have completed five years experience in school health, currently practice full-time and have as his/her main responsibility the supervision, administration, and coordination of school nursing service and health programs.
❏ Nominee must not be on NASN Board of Directors or an officer of NASN at the time of nomination.

Outstanding Service of a School Nurse

Rising Star Award


Description:

An award to recognize a new school nurse who has made an impact in her school or community as an emerging leader in school nursing.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Rising Star Award, the nominee must meet all of the following criteria:

❏ Registered professional nurse or a licensed practical nurse.
❏ Currently practicing as a full time school nurse.
❏ Has worked in school nursing less than 3 years, including current year.
❏ Current member of MASN

Life Membership

 

Description: 

Life Membership may be granted to any MASN member who meets the below criteria. 

Eligibility:  

To be eligible for Life Membership, the nominee must meet all of the following criteria.  Please check all criteria below:

❏ Active in school nursing 15 years or more.
❏ Member of MASN district and state organizations 10 or more years as active, associate, or retired/active.
❏ Served on BOD in district and/or state organizations.
❏ Worked on a committee at district and state level
❏ Shall not be in MASN elected office at the time of presentation.
❏ Initiated programs for students that strengthen the educational process through improvement of health.
❏ Organized and/or furthered district organization.

Friends of School Nursing


Description:

An award to acknowledge a person or group who has made a statewide contribution to assist MASN in achieving its goal of quality health care for all Missouri children.

Eligibility:

Any person or group outside of school nursing who has made a statewide contribution to assist MASN in achieving its goal of quality health care for all Missouri children.
