Katherine Park, DNP, RN, NCSN
School Nurse, Parkway School District
Dr. Katherine Park has been in school nursing since 2001, served as Parkway's Interim Director of Health Services in 2021, and is currently working as an elementary school nurse in the Parkway School District in St. Louis. She has been a nationally certified school nurse since 2005; a CPR instructor since 2010; obtained her master's degree in Public Health/School Health nursing in 2011; and obtained her doctorate degree in Nursing Leadership in 2021. During her master's and doctoral studies, she focused on type 1 diabetes in K-12 students, its management in schools, and its impact on the social and emotional well-being of parental care givers. In April 2020, she received the Missouri School Nurse of the Year Award from MASN and in March 2023 she received the MASN Lifetime Award. In addition to working full-time, she also works part-time at Maryville University as an Adjunct Faculty member in their school of nursing program and is a part-time contractor for the state of Missouri, actively involved in reviewing materials that are being compiled into a school nurse outline training program for all school nurses in Missouri.
